Can Businesses Use Video To Increase Leads?

25th June 2018 by Ellen Jackson Leave a Comment

It is 2018 and video is everywhere! YouTube is the second most popular search engine. 78% of people are watching online videos every week and 55% of people are watching videos online every day, according to HubSpot.

That is a lot of people!!

Cisco have predicted that by 2020 online videos will make up more than 80% of all consumers’ Internet traffic. Have I got your attention yet?

The question you’ll likely want to know the answer to is ‘how can video bring you more leads?’

Here are my top tips on how:

  1. Use video to help customers easily understand what you do.

Video can be used to help prospective customers understand what you do in a way that photos and text can’t. Promotional and explainer videos allow visitors to your website or social media channels to connect with you while they’re in the information gathering stage and can provide that little push to make them enquire. It provides a window into your business, allowing customers to get to know you, understand your values, along with your products and services.

  1. Use real employees to increase trust.

Seeing a real person and a real company allows potential customers to get to know you before they even make an enquiry. It builds trust, builds familiarity and enables you to demonstrate your very best self.

  1. Keeping people on your site for longer can improve your SEO.

I’m sure you’ve heard it a million times, but, Google loves great content. The time someone spends on a site directly affects your rankings. Have a great video on your site that people want to watch and you’ll start to see keyword ranking improvements. Facebook also loves video. If you post a video natively to Facebook it’ll reach a much wider audience than plain text.

  1. Evoke emotion and tell stories to resonate with your target market.

Video is an extremely engaging medium, allowing you to get across the passion and energy you have for your company. People remember stories much more than just data and figures, so use video to tell your story, allow people to get to know YOU.

  1. Repurpose your content for multiple platforms for maximum impact.

Once you’ve got your video you can share it over multiple platforms, including your website, and all social media channels. This is ideal for getting seen by a wider audience. Creating “evergreen” content is a great way to be able to use content time and time again. Explainer videos are perfect for this, as you’re able share the same content with your followers every few months. Q&A videos work great for this kind of thing, as you can keep sharing them with your followers every now and again. Testimonial videos and case studies are also good examples of content that can be re-shared.

These are just five ways you can use video. Want to find out more and how you can make the most out of your investment? Get in touch. Email me at ellen@ellenjackson.co.uk .
